Answer 1 :
You're asking this on the wrong site, because you want information about Columbus, Ohio - not Canada. However, most photographic studios will do official pictures for you.
Answer 2 :
Any place in Columbus that takes pictures for passports should be able to take a photograph that would meet the requirements for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (tourist visa). The specifications for the photo are available in the Visa Instruction Guide, and I have provided the link regarding that here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256EB.asp Just print out that page, show it to the photographer and they should be able to get you an appropriate photo taken. I think the only stipulation for the photos is that it be a certain size, the background must be white (or neutral color) and you should not smile (seriously, don't smile - they tell us that when we take photos for passports and driver's licenses)

About where would a convicted felon go to look or be able to find work in columbus ohio

Where would a convicted felon go to look or be able to find work in columbus ohio?
My boyfriend was recently released from prison a year ago and has moved to columbus ohio. He is a hard worker has an amazing work ethic and loves working overtime. The only problem is he is unable to find any places to give him a chance. Does anyone know of some factory's or anykind of jobs that would allow his background. His felony was for robbery so therefore he can not work where there will be money involved. Perhaps a factory job or some kind of outside work/construction. Please help me help him. Thank You!

Answer 1 :
I understand that is a real problem with convicted felons. Sorry, the only help I can give you is to break up with him, cause he's never never going to amount to a hill of beans!
Answer 2 :
Start going to temp agencies. Many places hire convicted felons. Millions of people have felony records. Also, Wal-Mart will hire just about anyone. Good luck.
Answer 3 :
Im going through the same problem 8 years after the fact. I have found out that it is possible to get the felony exponged through a lawyer but there are limits to which felonys can be exponged. The lowest price I have found was $720. You have to file in the state and county in which the felony occured. Employment agencies tend to run background checks "trust me I know" I know walmart will hire him. I have been sticking to retail jobs since most of them dont run background checks.

If you are interested in health products, I have an opportunity for you. And there is a rep in Columbus who could work directly with you. Contact me through my profile and we can talk more about it.
Answer 2 :
There is renown USA company that deals with internet education. Its super affiliate program has attracted thousands from various parts of the world. The info you need is just a click away.
Answer 3 :
There are many ways to work with BeautiControl. They train you to have Spa parties in which you can customize skincare the guests, sell spa/body products and cosmetics. They also train you to determine peoples "seasons" and which colors are best for them both in wardrobe and cosmetics, with make-up application techniques. Another route is being Bridal consultant, they supply everything you need to help brides with there big day, regarding dress type, hair style & veil choice, skincare, make-up and relaxation techniques. Another option is going in to businesses and having mini stress breaks. I have hosted parties at my house, gone to peoples houses and hosted parties for them, gone into businesses for the stress breaks and now I use the products with my massage clients. The products are wonderful and they sell themselves. I am pretty new to BC, but so far I love it. I joined for the skincare because I had heard wonderful things about it, and because to remain a consultant and receive the discount on the skincare you just have to place a $100 retail order every 3 months. (minus discount). Now I am building a business for myself, so I can stay at home with my little girl, she is one month old. BC supplies everything to start your own business. All for $99, what an opportunity! It's usually $250 to join and receive over $500 in products but this month it's $99! If you are interested, email me or check out my site listed below in sources. Good Luck! Barbie 1029211

About I work in Columbus Ohio, but live in Westerville Ohio. Which City do I file my taxes with (I'm self-employed)

I work in Columbus Ohio, but live in Westerville Ohio. Which City do I file my taxes with (I'm self-employed)?
I was "employed" with a company (based in Columbus) for years, but last year I switched to "subcontract" (working for the same company)... meaning: I now receive a 1099 instead of a W2. Anyway, I filled out Columbus tax forms (by habit). -Do I need to rip those up and fill out Westerville tax forms now? (Again, I live in Westerville and now "technically" self-employed with a home office, but I work in Columbus).

You can get some seasonal jobs, like parking lot, admissions, and food service, when you are 16. When you are 18. you can work in education, in the money room, at the golf course, and also start applying for permanant jobs. You can start volunteering there when you are 13 - if you really are interested in a career with animals, that's not a bad idea if you can get there. Good luck

About Is it legal to not pay employee for the time they actually work

Is it legal to not pay employee for the time they actually work?
If you work for a company where your hours are 8-5 M-F with an hour lunch, is it legal for them to not pay you if you clock in early for your shift? Is it legal for them to deduct a full hour from your pay for lunch if you don't take a full hour? I live and work in Columbus, OH. I was told by my supervisor that no matter what you get charged for an hour lunch. I was also told that they view clocking in early as unapproved overtime and therefore do not pay it. Until I noticed problems this information was not given to me.
Law & Legal - 5 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Many companies have rules about approving/authorizing overtime. If you are not scheduled to work the extra time, they don't have to pay you. Sorry! That's probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's the way it is.
Answer 2 :
No it isn't, but many companies play the game until someone sues them. ~ They expect extra time to be put in which they have no intention to pay for.
Answer 3 :
the other guy is right-you cant get payed for O.T thats not scheduled srry
Answer 4 :
Hi. I'm an office manager for a company based in California. Let me see if I can help you out here from my experience. The laws in your state of Ohio may differ, however. 1. If your hours are 8am-5pm, you really should not clock in till 8am. You can come in early, but technically you are on your own time until your actual start time of 8:00am. If your employer asks you to come in earlier to work, then yes, you have been asked and you should clock in and get paid for that additional time, even if it falls into the overtime category. Just like if you are asked to work past 5pm, you should be paid for that additional time. If you choose to stay past 5pm, but are not asked, you are on your own time. You are supposed to stop your work at 5pm and clock out, and pick up the next day where you left off. 2. If your hours are 8am-5pm, you are entitled to a one-hour lunch break, which you take at some point in that day. If you chose to not take the full hour, that is your option. Again, if your employer asks you to cut your lunch short to come back to finish a project, then you would clock back in at that time and should be compensated. Some companies will actually request their employees to not clock in until the 8am hour. I worked for such a company. I would arrive at 7:45am to get settled in at my desk, and then go downstairs at 7:59am to wait till exactly 8am to clock in. That was their policy they enforced due to exactly what you speak of. While it is good that you are dependable and show up to work earlier, for an employer it's about the bottom line...payroll expenses. I hope I have helped to answer your question. Good luck.
Answer 5 :
If the US Department of Labor audited the time clock they would fine the company and you would get paid. If you are on the clock you get paid. This is spelled out in the Fair Labor Standards Act. (Look up this act on the web and show it to your boss) Do you clock out and in at lunch time? If so, they are again required to pay you for all time on the clock. Many companies have this problem. Those that are acting within the law tell employees that they may not clock in more than about 5 minutes early, that they must clock in/out for lunch and that they may not clock out more than 5 minutes late. They generally have a form for permission to work overtime. Employees disregarding this policy are generally written up for failure to follow company policy. The reason is that the company may not alter time clock records and they wind up having to pay for unauthorized overtime which is expensive at time and a half. Before you do anything, check your employee handbook to see what it says about the time clock.

This will be tough to say the least. Because she was evicted so recently, most apartment complexes will not want to take her on as a risk. Her best bet is a private landlord who may not do credit checks as long as she has great references.

As a fellow teenager, I recommend that you check out swagbucks. You get paid to click websites, complete easy offers, take surveys, take daily polls, and even use their search engine. This site has helped me earn over $500.00 in the past year spending only a few minutes a day on their site. Use their search engine often when first starting out with this site, you can make A LOT of swagbucks off of their search engine. http://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-register&rb=2357955
